📶 Scruffy’s Digital Journy — Wi‑Fi
Hi, I’m Scruffy. Christopher explained that Wi‑Fi is how most devices connect to the Internet. At first, I thought you always needed a cable. But Christopher reminded me: Wi‑Fi is wireless — it lets you connect safely and easily.
🌀 What Wi‑Fi Is
Wireless Internet: Connects your device to the Internet without cables.
Router: The box in your home, library, or café that sends out the Wi‑Fi signal.
Network Name (SSID): Every Wi‑Fi has a name you select when connecting.
Password: Protects the network so only trusted people can join.
🌀 Step‑by‑Step Guide: Connecting to Wi‑Fi (Windows)
Step 1: Find the Wi‑Fi Icon
Look at the bottom‑right corner of the screen (taskbar).
Click the Wi‑Fi symbol (curved lines).
Step 2: Choose a Network
A list of available Wi‑Fi networks will appear.
Left‑click the one you want (like Library Wi‑Fi or Home Network).
Step 3: Enter the Password
If the network is secure, type the password.
Click Connect.
Step 4: Confirm Connection
The Wi‑Fi icon will show solid lines when connected.
Open your browser to test the Internet.
