🖥️ Scruffy’s Digital Journy — The Start Menu
Hi, I’m Scruffy. Once I understood the desktop, Christopher showed me the Start Menu. At first, I didn’t know what that little Windows symbol meant. It looked like just another button. But Christopher explained that the Start Menu is like a cupboard — it’s where all your programs and tools are stored.
When I clicked it for the first time, I saw a list of apps and settings. It felt overwhelming, but Christopher guided me step by step until I realized it’s actually simple.
🌀 Step‑by‑Step Guide: Using the Start Menu
Step 1: Find the Start button
Look at the bottom left corner of the taskbar.
It’s the Windows logo (four squares).
Step 2: Click the Start button
A menu will open with programs, folders, and settings.
Step 3: Explore the apps list
Scroll to see all the programs installed on your computer.
Common ones include Word, Excel, and Settings.
Step 4: Use the search bar
Type the name of a program (like “Word”) to find it quickly.
Step 5: Pin your favourites
Right‑click an app and choose Pin to Start or Pin to Taskbar.
This makes it easier to find next time.
✨ Scruffy’s Reflection
At first, I thought the Start Menu was too complicated. But Christopher reminded me: it’s just your cupboard of tools. Once I learned how to open it and search, I felt like I could find anything I needed.
