Hi, I’m Scruffy. I want to share the very first time I tried to use a computer.
I was nervous. I didn’t know where to start, and the computer looked complicated. That’s when Christopher, the Digital Champion, guided me step by step. He showed me how to turn the computer on, explained each part, and reassured me when I made mistakes.
At first, I pressed the wrong button and thought I had broken it! But Christopher smiled and showed me the right one. When the screen lit up, I felt proud — it wasn’t as scary as I thought.
That first lesson taught me something important: learning computers isn’t about being perfect. It’s about trying, practicing, and having someone kind to guide you.
🌀 Step‑by‑Step Guide: Turning On a Computer
Step 1: Find the power button
Look for a small button with a circle and a line symbol (⏻).
On desktops, it’s usually on the front of the tower.
On laptops, it’s often near the keyboard or side.
Step 2: Press the power button once
You don’t need to hold it down — just a gentle press.
Wait a few seconds for the computer to respond.
Step 3: Watch the screen
The monitor or laptop screen will light up.
You may see a logo or loading screen.
Step 4: Wait for the system to start
It may take a minute or two.
Don’t worry if it feels slow — that’s normal.
Step 5: Celebrate your progress
You’ve just turned on a computer!
Take a moment to feel proud — this is your first step in digital learning.
