🖱️ Scruffy’s Mouse Skills Challenge
"Hi, I’m Scruffy. When I first learned to use the mouse, I felt clumsy. The pointer zoomed across the screen, I clicked the wrong buttons, and sometimes nothing happened at all. But Christopher, the Digital Champion, showed me that practice makes progress. So here’s a challenge you can try — the same one I did when I was learning."
🌀 Practice Activity
Task 1: Click an Icon
Move the pointer slowly across the desktop.
Stop on one icon (like “Recycle Bin” or “Word”).
Press the left button once to select it.
Task 2: Double‑Click to Open a Program
Move the pointer to the same icon.
Quickly press the left button twice.
Watch the program or folder open.
Task 3: Right‑Click for Options
Move the pointer to an icon.
Press the right button once.
A menu will appear — explore the options, but don’t worry about choosing anything yet.
Task 4: Scroll Down a Page
Open a program like a web browser or Word.
Use the scroll wheel in the middle of the mouse.
Roll it forward to move down, backward to move up.
Task 5: Celebrate Your Progress
You’ve clicked, double‑clicked, right‑clicked, and scrolled.
That’s the foundation of mouse skills — and you did it!
✨ Scruffy’s Reflection
"When I first tried this challenge, I made mistakes. Sometimes I clicked too slowly, sometimes too fast. But Christopher reminded me: mistakes are part of learning. With practice, the mouse became my friend — and now it feels natural."
