🖱️ Scruffy’s Digital Journy — Connecting a Mouse
Hi, I’m Scruffy. Christopher explained that a mouse is the tool that lets you move the pointer on the screen and click things. At first, I thought it was complicated to connect. But Christopher reminded me: it’s simple, and there are two main types — wired and wireless.
🌀 Wired Mouse (USB)
Find a USB Port
Look for a rectangular slot on your computer (usually on the side of a laptop or back of a desktop).
Plug It In
Insert the mouse’s USB connector into the port.
Wait a Moment
Windows will automatically detect the mouse.
Test It
Move the mouse — the pointer should move on the screen.
🌀 Wireless Mouse (USB Receiver)
Insert the Receiver
Plug the small USB dongle into a USB port.
Turn On the Mouse
Flip the switch underneath the mouse to “On.”
Check the Battery
Make sure the mouse has batteries installed.
Test It
Move the mouse — the pointer should move.
🌀 Bluetooth Mouse (No Receiver)
Turn On the Mouse
Flip the switch underneath to “On.”
Open Bluetooth Settings
On Windows, go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices.
Add Device
Click Add device and choose Bluetooth.
Select Your Mouse
Choose the mouse from the list.
Test It
Move the mouse — the pointer should move.
🖱️ Scruffy’s Mouse Challenge
"Christopher gave me a challenge to practice. You can try it too:"
Plug in a wired mouse.
Move the pointer to test it.
Try a wireless mouse with a USB receiver.
Finally, connect a Bluetooth mouse through Settings.
