🌐 Scruffy’s Digital Journy — Clearing the Address Bar

Hi, I’m Scruffy. When I first tried to use the address bar, I saw words already written there — the homepage address. I didn’t know what to do. Christopher explained that this is the perfect moment to practice my mouse and keyboard skills again.

🌀 Step‑by‑Step Guide: Removing the Homepage Address

Step 1: Click Inside the Address Bar

  • Use your mouse to move the pointer to the long box at the top of the browser.

  • Left‑click once.

  • The homepage address will highlight in blue.

Step 2: Clear the Address

  • If it’s highlighted, you can simply start typing — the old text will disappear.

  • Or press the Backspace key on the keyboard to delete it.

Step 3: Type Your Search or Website

  • Use the keyboard to type something new, like:

    • BBC News

    • Sky News

    • Weather

  • Press Enter to go there.
