🛡️ Scruffy’s Digital Journy — Email Safety

Hi, I’m Scruffy. Christopher explained that emails are like letters arriving at your digital door. At first, I thought every letter was safe to open. But Christopher reminded me: email safety means spotting scams, protecting details, and using rituals that keep your vault secure

.

🌀 Core Email Safety Steps

  • Check the sender address: Scammers often use look‑alike emails (e.g., support@paypa1.com instead of paypal.com).

  • Spot urgent language: “Act now!” or “Your account will be suspended” are red flags.

  • Avoid clicking links: Type web addresses directly into your browser.

  • Don’t open attachments: Unless you’re sure the sender is trusted.

  • Check spelling and grammar: Many scam emails contain mistakes.

  • Enable spam filters: Let your email service block unsafe messages.

  • Report suspicious emails: Forward to report@phishing.gov.uk in the UK.

  • Delete after reporting: Don’t leave unsafe emails in your inbox.

🔐 Scruffy’s Safety Rituals

  • Notebook & Pen: Record suspicious sender addresses for awareness.

  • Predictability: Always open emails from the same trusted contacts.

  • Boundaries: Never share PINs, passwords, or full details by email.

  • Awareness: Check your inbox daily for unusual activity.

🖱️ Scruffy’s Safety Challenge

"Christopher gave me a challenge to practice. You can try it too:"

  1. Open your inbox and look for one email that feels unusual.

  2. Write down why it looks suspicious in your notebook.

  3. Practice typing a bank or service address directly into your browser instead of clicking links.

  4. Forward one suspicious email to report@phishing.gov.uk (UK learners).

  5. Delete the email after reporting.

Scruffy’s Reflection   At first, I thought every email was safe. But Christopher reminded me: scams often hide in letters. For learners, that means you can keep your inbox safe and predictable — all with Scruffy guarding the vault beside you.

Report . Protect . Safe

Report, Protect, Safe

Report: Tell someone you trust. or report it online . You don’t have to handle it alone.

Protect: Block, delete, or step away. Your boundaries matter.

Safe: You’ve reported, protected yourself, and now Scruffy guards
