🧸 Scruffy’s Digital Journy — When You Feel Sad, Scared, or Alone

Hi, I’m Scruffy. Christopher explained that sometimes feelings get so big, they feel like storms inside your chest. At first, I thought you had to hide those feelings. But Christopher reminded me: talking is a safety ritual — and you’re never alone.

🌧️ When Feelings Feel Too Big

Sometimes you might feel:

  • Sad all the time

  • Scared of things that used to feel safe

  • Like you want to disappear or stop hurting

  • Like no one understands

These feelings are real. They’re not bad. And you don’t have to carry them alone.

✨ Scruffy’s Reflection

At first, I thought kids had to carry everything alone, with no vault to lean on. But Christopher reminded me: sanctuary is for everyone.

For kids, that means every heavy moment becomes a chance to:

  • Reach out — to a friend, a helpline, or a trusted voice

  • Tell someone — sharing is strength, not weakness

  • Remember — you are never alone, ever

🛡️ Scruffy’s Safety Rituals

  • Tell a trusted adult: A parent, teacher, carer, or someone you trust.

  • Call Childline: 0800 1111 — it’s free, open all the time, and you don’t have to say your name.

  • Text SHOUT to 85258: If talking feels too hard, you can text.

  • Write it down: Use your notebook and pen to write how you feel. You can show it to someone later.

  • Stay close to comfort: Teddy, a blanket, a safe corner — these are sanctuary tools.
