🔄 Updates

Once your laptop is running, it may ask to install updates. Updates are small improvements sent by Microsoft to keep your computer safe, fix problems, and add new features.

🧭 Why Updates Matter

  • Security — protects you from viruses and scams

  • Performance — makes your laptop run more smoothly

  • Features — adds new tools or improves existing ones

⚙️ How to Check for Updates

  1. Click the Start Menu (bottom‑left corner)

  2. Type Settings and open it

  3. Choose Windows Update from the menu

  4. Click Check for updates

If updates are available, your laptop will download and install them. Sometimes it may need to restart — that’s normal.

🌟 Tips

  • Keep your laptop plugged in during updates so the battery doesn’t run out

  • Don’t worry if it takes a while — updates can be large

  • You can schedule updates to happen at a time that suits you

💡 Remember: updates are like regular health check‑ups for your computer. They keep everything safe and running smoothly.
