šŸ–±ļø Mouse Skills

Once you’re on the desktop, it’s time to get comfortable with your mouse. The mouse helps you move around your screen, click on things, and make choices.

🐭 Getting to Know Your Mouse

  • Left Button — used for clicking and selecting

  • Right Button — opens extra options (called a ā€œmenuā€)

  • Scroll Wheel — lets you move up and down pages

Try gently moving the mouse — you’ll see a small arrow (called the cursor) move across the screen. That’s your pointer.

šŸ–±ļø Practice Makes Progress

  • Move the cursor over the Start MenuĀ and click the left buttonĀ once

  • Move to the Recycle BinĀ icon and double-clickĀ (two quick left clicks)

  • Try right-clickingĀ on the desktop to see a menu appear

If the mouse feels tricky at first, that’s okay. Many people need time to get used to it. You can even practice on a blank screen just moving the cursor around.

🌟 Tip: If you have trouble with hand movement, a trackpad (built into laptops) or touchscreen might be easier.
