📄 Microsoft Word Basics

Microsoft Word is a program for creating documents — letters, notes, stories, or reports. It’s like a digital notebook with powerful tools to make your writing clear and neat.

🧭 Opening Word

  • Click the Start Menu and type Word.

  • Select Microsoft Word from the list.

  • A blank document will open, ready for typing.

✨ What You Can Do in Word

  • Type text → just start writing with the keyboard.

  • Format text → change font, size, colour, or style (bold, italic, underline).

  • Add pictures → insert photos or images into your document.

  • Save your work → click File → Save As and choose a folder.

  • Print → click File → Print to make a paper copy.

🖐️ Practice Ideas

  • Type a short letter to a friend.

  • Try changing the font size and colour of your name.

  • Insert a picture (like a photo saved in your Pictures folder).

  • Save the document in your Documents folder with the name Practice Letter.

🌟 Tips

  • Use the Undo button (curved arrow) if you make a mistake.

  • Save your work often to avoid losing progress.

  • Explore the Ribbon toolbar at the top — it holds most of Word’s features.

💡 Remember: Microsoft Word is your digital writing desk. With a few clicks, you can create polished documents for any purpose.
