🖥️ Getting to the Desktop

Once setup is complete, your laptop will take you to the Windows 11 desktop — the main screen where everything begins.

You’ll see a clean background (often a soft blue swirl), a row of icons at the bottom called the taskbar, and a small button in the bottom-left corner called the Start Menu.

🧭 What You’ll Notice

  • Start Menu — where you find apps like Mail, Calendar, Microsoft Edge, and Settings

  • Taskbar — shows open apps and lets you switch between them

  • Desktop Icons — shortcuts like “Recycle Bin” or “This PC”

It might feel unfamiliar at first, but don’t worry — you won’t break anything by exploring. Try clicking the Start Menu and looking around. You can always close things by clicking the “X” in the corner.

🌟 Tip: If you’re ever unsure what something does, hover your mouse over it — a small label will often appear to explain.
