📂 File Explorer Basics
File Explorer is the program on your laptop that helps you find, open, and organise files. Think of it as your digital filing cabinet.
🧭 Opening File Explorer
Click the yellow folder icon on the taskbar, or
Press Windows key + E on your keyboard.
✨ What You Can Do
Browse folders → Documents, Pictures, Downloads, Music.
Open files → double‑click to open a document, photo, or video.
Create folders → right‑click → New → Folder (great for organising).
Move files → drag and drop into another folder.
Search → use the search bar at the top right to find files quickly.
🖐️ Practice Ideas
Open File Explorer and look inside your Documents folder.
Create a new folder called Practice.
Move a file (like a photo or text document) into the Practice folder.
Use the search bar to find a file by name.
🌟 Tips
Keep files in the right folders to make them easier to find later.
Rename files with clear names (e.g., HolidayPhoto2025 instead of IMG_1234).
Use the Quick Access section for your most‑used folders.
💡 Remember: File Explorer is your map of the computer. Once learners understand it, they’ll feel much more confident navigating their digital world.
