📂 File Explorer

File Explorer is like the filing cabinet of your computer. It shows you all your files and folders in one place, so you can open, move, or organise them easily.

🖥️ Opening File Explorer

  • Look for the yellow folder icon on the taskbar (bottom of the screen).

  • Or click the Start Menu and type File Explorer.

  • When it opens, you’ll see a window with folders like Documents, Pictures, Music and Downloads.

🧭 What You’ll See

  • Navigation Pane (left side) → lists main folders and drives

  • Main Window (centre) → shows the files and folders inside the one you’ve selected

  • Search Bar (top right) → lets you find files by name

🖐️ Practice Ideas

  • Click on Documents to see what’s inside

  • Try opening the Pictures folder to view sample images

  • Use the Search Bar to look for “Recycle Bin” or a file name

🌟 Tips

  • Double‑click a folder to open it, single‑click to select it

  • You can drag files from one folder to another to organise them

  • Right‑click on a file or folder to see extra options (like Rename or Delete)

💡 Remember: File Explorer is your map of the computer. Once you know how to use it, you’ll always know where your work lives.
