📱 Exploring Apps

Your laptop comes with a variety of apps (short for applications). Apps are programs that let you do different tasks — from writing documents to listening to music.

🧭 Where to Find Apps

  • Click the Start Menu (bottom‑left corner).

  • You’ll see a list of apps already installed.

  • Scroll down or use the search bar to find what you need.

✨ Common Apps to Try

  • Mail → check and send emails

  • Microsoft Edge → browse the internet

  • Photos → view and organise pictures

  • Calendar → keep track of appointments

  • WordPad → write simple documents

🖐️ Practice Ideas

  • Open the Photos app and look at sample pictures

  • Try the Calendar app and add a reminder

  • Explore the Microsoft Store to see what other apps are available (many are free)

🌟 Tips

  • Don’t worry about exploring — you can’t break anything by opening an app

  • If you don’t need an app, just close it with the X in the corner

  • Over time, you’ll find your favourites and use them often

💡 Remember: apps are like tools in a toolbox. Each one has a purpose, and with practice, you’ll learn which ones make your digital life easier.
